El Salvador is going through a key moment in its history, in which it has identified sport as a fundamental strategy to promote coexistence and prevent violence. This initiative contributes to improving inclusion processes for vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, persons deprived of liberty and persons with disabilities.

Since 2022, the National Sports Institute of El Salvador INDES, in collaboration with the S4D Programme, has carried out several trainings on “Deporte con Principios” for its staff, as part of a strategy to integrate this method in all programmes currently implemented by the institution.

 In El Salvador, workshops for teachers and coaches focused on violence prevention and inclusion. The learning process was developed based on Colombia's experience in promoting coexistence and El Salvador's experience with an inclusive approach. 

The documents developed in Colombia were adapted for the use and context of El Salvador with an emphasis on inclusion.
