Welcome to our Country Collection!
From 2012 to 2025, German development cooperation implemented Sport for Development (S4D) projects and programmes in numerous countries across the globe, working closely with a wide range of local and international partner organisations. Over time, a wealth of S4D knowledge and resources has been developed — adapted to different countries, languages, sports codes, and thematic priorities. We are happy to make this valuable expertise available to you.

El Salvador is experiencing a pivotal moment in its history, having identified sport as a key strategy to promote coexistence and violence prevention. This approach supports improved inclusion of vulnerable groups such as the elderly, persons deprived of liberty, and people with disabilities.
Since 2022, the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES), in collaboration with the S4D Programme, conducted several trainings on the method “Deporte con Principios” for its staff. These sessions formed part of a broader strategy to integrate this method across all programmes implemented by the institution.
In El Salvador, workshops for teachers and coaches focused on violence prevention and inclusion. The learning process was developed based on Colombia's experience in promoting coexistence and El Salvador's experience with an inclusive approach.
The documents developed in Colombia were adapted for the use and context of El Salvador with an emphasis on inclusion.
We invite you to have a look at the following teaching and learning material, which was created by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and our partner organizations in El Salvador. You will find a more detailed description about the materials in our collection S4D Tools for your Practice/Teaching and Learning Materials.
